Searching for better pain relievers - Treating the menacing consequences of chronic pain disorders

Dr. Stephen Arneric joined Lilly Research Laboratories in October 2008 where he is currently Chief Scientific Officer of the Pain & Migraine Drug Hunting Team. He has extensive leadership experience as well as scientific expertise in the areas of pain, neurology, urology, and psychiatry. Prior to joining Lilly Dr. Arneric was VP of Research and Preclinical Development at Neuromed Pharmaceuticals, and held other senior positions at Pfizer, Ann Arbor Laboratories, Pharmacia Corporation, DuPont Pharmaceuticals, and Abbott Laboratories.

Dr. Arneric received his PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Iowa with Dr. John Long, and postdoctoral training at Cornell University Medical College with Dr. Donald Reis. He is an author of 143 peer-reviewed articles, 183 abstracts, 16 chapters, 1 book, numerous IND submissions as well as a co-inventor on 15 patents.
