CEN Capstone Project to Feature Presentations on Science, Medicine and Entrepreneurism

The UNE Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences will be hosting a special event Wednesday, August 10th from 8 am through 1:30 pm on the Biddeford campus. The event will include presentations by seven interns who have spent the summer working with Maine-based companies and UNE faculty to learn about various aspects of drug discovery and development, translational biomedical research, entrepreneurism and community service. In addition, several UNE students will present updates on their original research projects that have the potential to be commercialized through start-up companies and partnerships with industry. The event will conclude with a keynote address by noted Maine neurosurgeon and entrepreneur Dr. Lee Thibodeau.

The internship program was made possible through the generosity of the Dave and Melinda Anderson Foundation, the Pond Family foundation, Edward and Jill Bilsky and Brian and Debbie Dallaire.

The day's programming is open to the UNE community, but we ask that you RSVP to Denise Giuvelis by 9 am August 8th at DGiuvelis@une.edu.  For more information on the event, please click here to download the PDF.
