Aftersound: A Sound Concert

Aftersound is a new listening series organized by Patrick Carey and Ron Harrity, focused on multi-channel / spatial audio performances and installation works in and around Portland. This will be the first of many immersive events in both dedicated music venues and less traditionally listening-oriented spaces. The name derives from Maryanne Amacher’s concept of the “after sound”, the sonic sensation that lingers after the sound itself has stopped. 

UNE Art Gallery Portland will host the series’ first show on Friday 1/24. We are pleased to premiere the series with this trio of Maine artists sharing their work, all of whom have explored the possibilities of spatial audio in their work. This program will feature two performances and one pre-recorded piece.
