CAIEP Event – Oral Health Impact on Recovery from Substance Use Disorder

Your future patient is recovering from substance use disorder and struggles with confidence, employment and employment due to the condition of their teeth. In this session you will hear from members of our community who are in recovery,UNE alum Amber Lombardi IPDH, CEO and founder of ‘Mainely Teeth’ (a low barrier dental clinic with 115 locations throughout Maine), and Joann Moulton, RDH, Ed.D from UNE’s Department of Dental Hygiene, who will address how poor dentition impacts systemic health. Together they will explore interprofessional harm reduction practices at the intersection of substance use disorders, recovery, and oral health.
Participation can be applied toward students’ IP Honors Distinction.
