Stephen Burt to present "Witness: An Artist in the Anthropocene" at Annual UNE Ludcke Lecture

Stephen Burt, M.F.A., professor in the University of New England School of Arts and Humanities at the University of New England, will deliver the Ludcke Chair lecture titled "Witness: An Artist in the Anthropocene" at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5. The event will take place in the Bush Board Room on UNE's Biddeford Campus, with an online viewing option available at une.edu/live. A reception will follow the lecture in the Bush Board Room. 
 

 

Burt, recipient of the 2024 Ludcke Chair award, was recognized for his outstanding accomplishments as a teacher and scholar. The Ludcke Chair, funded by a bequest from Eleanor Ludcke's estate, is awarded annually to a tenured faculty member in the College of Arts and Sciences.
