Lecture by Anouar Majid inspires a news column
A column by Jory Squibb in the Village Soup Nov. 21, 2009 titled "A fresh look at the Middle East" was a commentary inspired by a lecture that Anouar Majid, Ph.D., director of the UNE Center for Global Humanities, gave at the Camden Public Library Nov. 10th. Squibb writes that Majid "has a naturally wide-ranging intellect, which is not the least bit content with any of the cobwebby notions we trade in today. Let me plunge in, with the warning that his talk was so provocative to my own thinking, that what follows is a mix of memory and editorial." Majid's most recent book is: We Are All Moors: Ending Centuries of Crusades against Muslims and Other Minorities.
