UNE joins Global Day of Climate Action with series of events Oct. 24th
The University of New England is hosting a series of events on Oct. 24th for the Global Day of Action for Climate Change.
The events at UNE are part of more than 2,000 rallies and events in more than 140 nations, coordinated by 350.org to urge world leaders to take fast and effective action on global warming.
This is the first global campaign ever organized around a scientific data point: 350 parts per million CO2 is the safe upper limit for the atmosphere according to the latest scientific data.
More than a dozen events will be held at UNE's Biddeford and Portland campuses, ranging from a film on the bottled water industry to a presentation on the new energy bill to a panel discussion about local foods.
