CAS/CEN faculty member Lei Lei publishes research article
An article by Lei Lei, Ph.D., and colleagues was published on Nov. 29, 2010 in the journal of Developmental Dynamics. This article, entitled “Sox11 regulates survival and axonal growth of embryonic sensory neurons”, is the 12th peer-reviewed article published by Dr. Lei. Using a transgenic mouse model, the research identifies a novel transcription factor that controls the development of somatosensory neurons in vivo and in vitro. These findings have important implications in pain research. Dr. Lei is an assistant professor in the Department of Biology of the College of Arts and Sciences, and an active member of the Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences.
