Cheryl Woolley interviewed for TV news story on textbook rentals

UNE Bookstore Manager Cheryl Woolley was interviewed for a Sept. 7, 2010 WMTW 8 News back-to-school story on the new trend of renting textbooks.

UNE's Follett bookstore is one of many college bookstores that are helping students save money by offering programs that allow them to rent textbooks instead of buying them. Students can save half the price of a new book by renting it. Woolley said it has been a big hit with students. "It's been awesome. They are excited. They are only shelling out half the money they did last year and the parents are thrilled. It is a win-win situation all around." Student Theresa Fitzgerald, who was also interviewed, was taking advantage of the trend. Colleges are also offering e-textbooks, online versions that help students save money.
