Diane Noble's artwork on display at UNE in Biddeford
The University of New England is hosting an exhibit of artwork by Diane Noble entitled 'Hills Beach Marsh & Beyond' in the Campus Center at UNE's Biddeford Campus.
Noble is an acrylic painter, primarily of landscapes, and is an art teacher in Saco, Maine. She has a B.A. from Queens College in Charlotte, NC and a Masters in Art Education from Hartford Art School, University of Hartford. She has taken workshops with David Lussier, Colin Page, Philip Frey and classes with Janet Manyan and Diane Dahlke.
In the summer, Noble spends much of her time painting plein-air on Monhegan Island, Port Clyde and all along the coast of Maine. She is drawn to places that have strong light and contrast. Large open areas of land and marsh intrigue her, as well as old shacks, rowboats and simple buildings.
The exhibit runs through June 30, 2010 and is free and open to the public. The Campus Center hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
