Dot Starkweather's artwork on display at UNE in Biddeford
The University of New England is hosting an exhibit of DotStarkweather's artwork entitled "Mainely . . . Long Legged Waders" in the Campus Center at UNE's Biddeford Campus. An Opening is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
A resident of Fortunes Rocks, Maine, Starkweather has been painting her native New England for many years. Starkweather most recently started making paper and pastel art of shore birds and flowers. She also has been working in encaustics, which is an ancient medium of molten wax. She has exhibited previously at UNE, Andover's "Art in the Park," The Union House Café in the North Dam Mill for Art Walk, Fortunes Rocks Association and the "Artists by the Sea" art show in Biddeford Pool.
The exhibit runs through May 31, 2010 and is free and open to the public. The Campus Center hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
