Marilyn Gugliucci is Keynote Speaker at University of Vermont Medical School's 2010 Center on Aging Research Day

Marilyn R. Gugliucci, Ph.D., Director of Geriatrics Education and Research, in UNECOM's Department of Geriatric Medicine, was invited to the University of Vermont (UVM) Medical School to be the keynote speaker for their 2010 Center on Aging Research Day at the Davis Auditorium, Fletcher Allen Medical Education Center in Burlington, VT on March 23, 2010.  Dr. Gugliucci presented her research on admitting medical students into nursing homes for 2 weeks to live the life of an elder resident. The keynote title was: Learning by Living: A Culture of Aging. The following day, Dr Gugliucci traveled to Middlebury, VT to present the Keynote luncheon address to residents, community and staff at the Lodge at Otter Creek Continuing Care Retirement Community. Her address was entitled: AGE: Attitude, Gumption and Effort, in which she challenged the societal construction of aging.
