UNE Professor Kenneth McCall named president of Maine Pharmacy Association
Kenneth 'Mac' McCall, associate professor and chair of the University of New England's Department of Pharmacy Practice, was elected president of the Maine Pharmacy Association at their annual meeting held in Bangor on September 11, 2010.
In his current role as chair of UNE's Department of Pharmacy Practice, he is developing an outstanding pharmacy curriculum through partnerships between UNE faculty, pharmacists and other health care professionals in Maine. He has also been instrumental in providing MPA immunization training programs for pharmacists across the state.
Dr. McCall received his B.S. pharmacy and Pharm.D. degrees from the University of Oklahoma and completed a primary care residency with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Army.
He brings a variety of professional experiences in both community and institutional settings through more than 15 years of practice. Prior to moving to Maine with his wife and son, he was an associate professor of pharmacy practice at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for 11 years.
The Maine Pharmacy Association, founded in 1867 is the oldest state professional pharmacy association in the country.
