UNE's Coastal Healthy Communities Coalition co-hosting 'What's for Dinner' Classes
Coastal Healthy Communities Coalition, a local Healthy Maine Partnership, together with Huntington Common and the Inn at Seal Rock will be hosting "What's For Dinner" classes. The "What's for Dinner" program is a free program that provides an opportunity for people with diabetes or pre-diabetes to come sample healthy dinner and dessert ideas. Participants will learn about healthy ways to prepare foods and get a chance to sample diabetic friendly and heart healthy recipes. The first 30 people at each event will also receive a free American Heart and Diabetes Associations cookbook (one cookbook per family).
The free events will be held on the following dates: Saturday, May 8th at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the Inn at Seal Rock, 100 Harbor Drive in Saco and Thursday, May 20th from 12:30 p.m.- 1:30 p.m. (lunch provided along with cooking demonstration and discussion) at Huntington Common, 1 Huntington Common Drive in Kennebunk.

Coastal Healthy Communities Coalition (CHCC) is a community-based health promotion coalition working to promote tobacco prevention/cessation, substance abuse prevention, physical activity and nutrition in both the community and schools. The coalition is a program of the University of New England's College of Osteopathic Medicine.
