Ali Ahmida presents two lectures at Georgetown University
On April 27, 2011, Ali Abdullatif Ahmida, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Political Science, presented a lecture entitled "Why Qaddafi Already Lost and the Ghosts of Libya's Colonial Past" at Georgetown University.
On April 28, 2011, Ahmida presented a second lecture entitled "Al-Koni's Saharan Imagination: Engaging Modernity, History, and The Nation-State." This lecture focused on the contemporary Libyan novelist Ibrahim al-Koni.
Ahmida, who was born in Libya, is the author of The Making of Modern Libya: State Formation, Colonialization and Resistance, and several other books on Libya and North Africa. Find out more about ahmida and read and listen to a number of his recent interviews and the national media.
