Anouar Majid is keynote speaker at U. Minnesota conference on Islam and the West; he also lectured in Morocco
Anouar Majid, Ph.D., associate provost for global initiatives and director of the UNE Center for Global Humanities, will deliver the keynote address at "Shared Cultural Spaces: Islam and the West in the Arts and Sciences Conference" at the University of Minnesota Feb. 26, 2011. Majid's topic is "The Inhumanity of Orthodoxy."
From Feb. 4-6, Majid also participated in the first conference of Moroccan journalists working abroad, hosted by the governmental agency, Council for the Moroccan Community Abroad, held in the coastal town of Al Jadida. On Feb. 8, he also gave a couple of lectures to School for International Training students in Rabat. While there, Majid started a blog titled Tingitana.
