Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center noted in Globe and NECN stories on stranded dolphins and seal
A number of regional media outlets, including the Boston Globe and New England Cable News, during the week of March 21-27, 2011 reported on strandings of seven dolphins on Massachusetts beaches the past few weeks. Six washed up dead but a seventh was rescued by the New England Aquarium, which transported the animal to UNE's Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center (MARC).
MARC was also noted in stories on a potentially sick 200-pound, 5-foot-long harp seal that was rescued by the New England Aquarium from the marsh behind Little Harbour School in Portsmouth, N.H. March 26, 2011. The seal was then transported to MARC for rehabilitation. The story was reported by the Portsmouth Herald and picked up by the Associated Press, Boston Herald and other outlets.
