Kashif Ahmad is published in 'Medical Science Educator'

Kashif Ahmad, MBBS, MSc, PhD, MSc (MEdL) (MMEL 2011) co-authored an article titled “USA Student Preference for Case Studies: Enhanced Learning in a Human Physiology Course,” which was recently published in Medical Science Educator, a journal of the International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE).

The article discusses the researchers' survey of current and previous students of physiology.  The survey provided evidence of the students’ strong preference for inclusion of case studies and related critical thinking activities within the traditional lecture format. Ahmad and his co-authors conclude that small-group activities based upon real cases can assist students to develop understanding of physiology concepts and to promote early and longer-term interest in physiology.
