Marilyn Gugliucci elected as secretary of MCOA Executive Board
Director of Geriatric Education and Research Marilyn R. Gugliucci, Ph.D., who serves on the Executive Board of the Maine Council on Aging (MCOA), a new organization that is in the formation stages, was recently elected as the board’s secretary.
Gugliucci is working with co-presidents Jessica Maurer, Esq., from the Maine Association for Aging Agencies on Aging, and John Hennessey, MS, associate director of the Maine AARP, along with eight additional leaders from the state to formalize the MCOA, which currently has 17 founding organizational members.
The MCOA is a strong interprofessional advocacy network that champions aging for all Mainers. Its mission is to advocate with and for older adults to influence policy that will improve older adult lives; promote safety, independence, and well-being; and support the organizations that serve their needs. The University of New England is among the founding members of the MCOA.
