Video on drinking and driving wins two Telly Awards
"Point of No Return," a DVD collaboration between the University of New England's Coastal Healthy Communities Coalition, the Healthy Maine Partnership at the UNE, Video Creations, and the Kennebunk Police Department, has been named a bronze Telly Award winner, as well as a silver People's Telly Award winner in the Non-Broadcast category. The Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Silver is the highest Telly awarded.
Using unique documentary and dramatic film techniques, "Point of No Return" focuses on the dangers of drinking and driving and allows the viewers to think about various scenarios as a result of step-by-step decisions. The video has been hailed by educators, law enforcement officials and teens themselves as one of most effective films they have ever seen about the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Because of its profound impact, the video is being distributed to every high school in Maine, free of charge. More information..
