Acrylic paintings by Diane Noble on exhibit at Campus Center in October
“Along the Maine Coast,” a collection of acrylic paintings by artist Diane Noble, of Hills Beach, Biddeford, Maine, will be on display at the University of New England’s Biddeford Campus Center from October 1 to November 4, 2013.
Noble’s works focus primarily on landscapes with panoramic views of wide, open spaces with little or no people and few buildings. Drawn to marshes, coves, inlets, distant islands with light and reflections, she is intrigued by the Maine landscape with its many pine treed islands, rowboats, lighthouses and antique cars and trucks. Noble’s paintings seek to capture light at different times of day and to reflect changes through the seasons.
Noble paints in her local area of Hills Beach as well as on the mid-coast of Maine, spending time each summer in Port Clyde, Monhegan Island, Acadia and Downeast. She paints both plein-air and from digital photographs and sketches made on location.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. UNE’s Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, Maine. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact Diane Noble by email or by phone at (207)-284-6394.
