Artwork by Kelly Ufkin of Portland on display at Campus Center
A collection of artwork by Kelly Ufkin of Portland, will be on display at the University of New England’s Biddeford Campus Center from February 1 to March 1, 2014.
Ufkin earned an M.F.A. from Marywood University. She studied abroad in Italy, where she trained in oil and fresco painting.
In her work, Ufkin strives to obtain composition, balance and color relation while experimenting with textures. She stated: “My more recent paintings contain elevated complexities with composition, lighting and contrast. The main focus is the distortion of images within water that converses with the concrete physicality of its surroundings.”
Ufkin grew up in Portland, Maine, and returned there after completing her studies.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. UNE’s Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, Maine. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact Diane Noble by email or by phone (207-284-6394).
