Center for the Enrichment of Teaching and Learning announces first mini-grants
The Center for the Enrichment of Teaching and Learning in partnership with the Office of Research and Scholarship is pleased to announce the first mini-grant award winners to support Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) projects.
Through SoTL projects, faculty members ask meaningful questions about student learning and the teaching activities designed to facilitate it. For the first time, CETL and the Office of Research and Scholarship have partnered to provide the necessary funding to award mini- grants to four faculty members to support and test their research.
Kathy Thompson, Ph.D., R.D., professor, Douglas Spicer, Ph.D., associate professor, and Rebecca Rowe, Ph.D., assistant professor, all from the College of Osteopathic Medicine, will work on identification and intervention for “at risk” students in Osteopathic Medical Knowledge I.
Ling Cao, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, will research the effectiveness of educating medical professionals in managing chronic pain patients through a supervised student interprofessional pain clinic.
Gurkishan Chadha, Pd.D., assistant clinical professor, and Srinidi Mohan Ph.D., assistant professor, both from the College of Pharmacy, will asses curricular reinforcement of pharmacy compounding skills.
Yank Kang, D.D.S., Ph.D., of the College of Dental Medicine, will research curriculum setting and pre-clinical dental students’ stress levels.
CETL will be asking for more proposals for grants later this month.
