Elizabeth Dyer invited to participate in National Library of Medicine’s Biomedical Informatics Course
Elizabeth Dyer, M.L.I.S., reference and instruction librarian for UNE Library Services, was recently accepted into the spring cohort of the National Library of Medicine’s Biomedical Informatics course. Hosted by Georgia Regents University and held at Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris, Georgia, the program will be held April 12-18, 2015.
Thirty participants were selected from 155 applicants on the basis of their backgrounds and potential to be change agents in their institutions. The participants represent universities, health care institutions, corporations, government and non-profit organizations in 16 states.
The week-long survey course is designed to familiarize individuals with the application of computer technologies and information science in biomedicine and health science, and it will include lectures, demonstrations and hands-on computer exercises from renowned informatics faculty.
