Geoffrey Bove publishes article in ‘Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods’
Geoffrey Bove, D.C., Ph.D., professor in the Department of Biomedical Science in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, recently published an article in the Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods.
The article, titled "A non-invasive method to evaluate gastrointestinal transit behavior in rats," describes an innovative way to measure the function of the digestive function of the rat, using webcams and pigmented food.
According to Bove, this method should prove useful for any studies of gut function, especially those of opiates, which have significant gastrointestinal side effects.
