Karen Pardue publishes book chapter on nursing education leadership
Karen Pardue, Ph.D., R.N., associate dean for academic affairs in the Westbrook College of Health Professions, recently published an invited chapter in the book, “Reflective Organizations: On the Front Line of QSEN and Reflective Practice Implementation.”
Her chapter, written in collaboration with Patricia Young, Ph.D., R.N., professor and graduate program director at Minnesota State University at Mankato, and Sara Horton-Deutsch, Ph.D., R.N. professor and Jean Watson Caring Science scholar at the University of Colorado, is entitled “Practices of Reflective Leaders.”
This work presents cumulative findings from a national qualitative hermeneutic investigation addressing the lived experience of academic nurse leaders.
While nursing education leadership is the focus of the chapter, the identified leadership practices extend across health profession education and are applicable to higher education administration.
