Marilyn Gugliucci co-edits Standards and Guidelines for Gerontology and Geriatrics in Higher Education, Sixth Edition
Marilyn Gugliucci, Ph.D., professor and director of Geriatrics Education and Research, served as co-editor of the “Sixth Edition of the Standards and Guidelines for Gerontology and Geriatrics in Higher Education,” a publication from the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education.
Gugliucci wrote a number of the chapters of the publication, serving as first author on sections setting standards for geriatrics curricula in medical school and other health-related programs.
“Although I have been working with this document since 2005, it was my presidency in this organization from 2008 to 2010 that solidified the importance of advancing curricular standards and guidelines in gerontology and geriatrics,” said Gugliucci. “The field of aging is interdisciplinary in nature, requiring dynamic as well as grounded standards and guidelines across disciplines, professions and educational levels. This Sixth Edition reflects that.”
