McCann Technical School Valedictorian Laura Netti to pursue Medical Biology at UNE
The University of New England is proud of its high-caliber student body, comprised of diverse, dedicated individuals. With each class comes a new round of future innovators with a myriad of skills to contribute to the institution and its surrounding community. In the fall, one such student, Laura Netti, will join UNE to pursue a degree in Medical Biology.
Netti comes to UNE after being named valedictorian of McCann Technical School in North Adams, Massachusetts. Her dedication to academics earned her the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendent’s Award for Academic Excellence, and the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship.
Upon completion of her degree in Medical Biology, Netti plans to enroll in the graduate Physician’s Assistant program. Her interest in becoming a Physician’s Assistant emerged as she explored each of the different fields of medicine available for specialization through that career path.
Her decision to attend UNE was influenced by the people she met, and the environment around her. She explained, “I received the best feeling at UNE. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. I am very excited to go there and meet new people. It has such a great atmosphere…I really like that UNE offers so much variety.”
UNE is pleased to welcome Netti and all of the incoming students to its community.
