News stories feature UNE, Biddeford High School agreement
The September 16, 2015 announcement of a credit transfer agreement between UNE and Biddeford High School was featured on WMTW and WCSH as well as in the Portland Press Herald, Courier and Journal Tribune.
The agreement, signed by UNE President Danielle Ripich, Ph.D., and Biddeford Superintendent Jeremy Ray at Biddeford High School, will give Biddeford high graduates the opportunity to receive course credit at UNE if accepted to the university, provided that their scores on Advanced Placement (AP) exams meet specific cut-offs. If students are able to transfer a minimum of 30 credits, they may enroll at UNE with sophomore standing.
“This program requires students to be quite dedicated to their studies, quite thoughtful about their future, and very invested in a mature way of approaching their studies as high school students, and that’s a good thing,” Jeanne Hey, Ph.D., dean of the College of Arts and Sciences told WMTW.
