UNE Oral Health Center Offers Family Fun at Open House
The University of New England’s state-of-the-art Oral Health Center is hosting an open house offering activities for kids, facility tours and raffle prizes on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The first 100 open house visitors will receive a voucher for a complete evaluation of their oral health needs, including x-rays. Tours of the facility will be provided throughout the day by students, allowing patients to ask questions and meet their care providers. Faculty, staff and deans will also be present.
For families looking to get their children involved, the event will also include a scavenger hunt and gift bags for kids, filled with stickers, dental products and more. Rachael Ray cooking products, Portland Sea Dogs tickets, and gift cards will be raffled off for free throughout the event.
In addition to all-day food and refreshments, attendees will also receive free promotional items and have the opportunity to participate in a trivia game for the chance to win prizes.
The UNE Oral Health Center is a fully functional dental facility, offering comprehensive examinations to patients at an affordable rate. Examinations are performed by third-year dental students, supervised by licensed faculty members. Patients interested in booking an appointment will be able to do so at the open house.
“Our goal is to provide underserved populations with affordable access to dental care,” says Jon Ryder, D.D.S., executive associate dean at the UNE College of Dental Medicine. “The UNE Oral Health Center gives our students a beneficial hands-on learning opportunity while making it easy for our local community members to receive the care they need.”
