UNE veterinary pharmacy compounding laboratory day featured on 'WMTW'
The University of New England’s Veterinary Pharmacy Compounding Laboratory Day was recently featured in an article on WMTW 8.
The news station came to the University to interview Cory Theberge, Ph.D., assistant professor in the College of Pharmacy (COP), coordinator of the veterinary pharmacy elective course. He was quoted in the piece, discussing the necessity for interprofessional communication between students and veterinarians.
Second-year COP student Dylan Lim also gave a statement, explaining that being able to speak to local veterinarians through this course has the potential to spark an un-realized passion in students.
Several photos of UNE students working in the lab to compound medications for pets were also included in the article. There were 60 students who participated in the event, working with and learning from area pharmacists and veterinarians to build their skills.
