On election night, UNE’s Anouar Majid gives live interviews in France and Morocco
On November 8 (9 in Europe and Morocco), 2016, as Americans awaited the results of one of the most contentious presidential elections in the nation’s history, University of New England Vice President of Communications and Global Affairs Anouar Majid, Ph.D., appeared live on two networks in two countries to offer his unique perspective on the race.
France 24 in Paris and 2M TV in Morocco both hosted Majid during their live election coverage within a 24-hour period. Majid commented for three hours – from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. – on France 24 as the results from a variety of states were made known to a globally anxious audience. By the time 2M's program “Mubashara Ma'akum” (“Live with you”) aired at 9:50 p.m. in Morocco, Donald Trump was president-elect and the discussion centered on the effect of the Trump presidency on Morocco's interests.
