Michael Burman interviewed by Dana Foundation for Brain Awareness Week
Michael Burman, Ph.D., associate professor and director of the K-12 Outreach program in the University of New England Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences, was interviewed by the Dana Foundation as part of a series for Brain Awareness Week.
Burman talked about efforts to expand UNE’s K-12 education efforts during Brain Awareness Week. He said that the Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences devotes an entire month to brain awareness, staging a variety of outreach activities to promote brain safety and STEM education. The hallmark activity during that month is the UNE Brain Fair, which will be held on April 8, 2016.
During the interview, Burman also discussed the most effective Brain Awareness Week events with students, future events the community can look forward to at UNE, and how UNE is promoting brain awareness globally.
