Saving time and money: UNE offers expertise on federal financial aid changes
University of New England Assistant Vice President of Student Financial Services Paul Henderson was interviewed by WCSH about recent changes to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.
Until this year, students had to wait until January 1 of the year they plan to attend school to submit the FAFSA. Starting this year, students can submit the application October 1 of the previous year. Henderson said the change provides more time for both the schools and the students. "It will really afford time for them to get the guidance and the help that they need and I think it will lead to them making better choices. This is going to be a benefit to the industry and to the families."
