UNE’s Harold Alfond Forum Ice Arena named Biddeford's best
The Harold Alfond Forum Ice Arena at the University of New England has been selected for a 2016 Best of Biddeford Award in the Ice Skating Rink category. Each year, the Biddeford Award Program identifies companies they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success. According to the program, these are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and the community, helping to make the Biddeford area a great place to live, work and play.
"On behalf of the Harold Alfond Forum staff as well as the entire UNE community, we are honored to be recognized with this award," said Alfond Forum General Manager DJ Whitten. "Beyond supporting the needs and mission of the university, we continually strive to support the local skating community through the use of our facility. Given the shortage of available ice time during the busiest winter months, we are proud to showcase our first-class venue and beautiful campus, while providing area youth with an opportunity to skate with us."
"We are very pleased that the University of New England's Harold Alfond Forum has received this very nice honor from the Biddeford Award Program," commented UNE Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Jack McDonald. "The Alfond Forum is one of, if not the best, NCAA Division III facilities in the region, and we are very proud to call it our home."
