Fighting elder abuse: UNE’s Judith Metcalf educates health care providers
Judith A. Metcalf, APRN, BC, M.S., clinical assistant professor of Nursing and Coordinator of the Upstream Practicums in Nursing Program and director of the UNE Maine Geriatric Education Center, recently delivered a Lunch & Learn Webinar presentation for the Maine Quality Counts Geriatric Series: Preventing Elder Abuse & Financial Exploitation.
The webinar explored how to identify red flags that might signal abuse or exploitation. The presentation aimed to educate health care providers in strategies of identifying and responding to cases and finding readily available sources of referral.
