Marilyn Gugliucci gives five presentations at national gerontology conference

Marilyn R. Gugliucci, Ph.D., University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine director of geriatrics education and research, gave five oral presentations at the 43rd Association for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE) Annual Meeting in Miami, Florida.

Three of the presentations were juried. The first was titled, “Practical and Technical Assistance for the Program of Merit Application Process.” The second was a paper presentation on the topic, “Using Gerontological Education to Challenge Assumptions and Change Perspectives,” in which Gugliucci and Tamara Chin (UNE COM 2019) presented, “48-Hour Hospice Home Immersion Project: Life Altering Medical Education.” The third was a symposium titled, “Accreditation for Gerontology Education Council: It has been Built…Will you Come?”

Gugliucci was also among the presenters for the AGHE Past Presidents Symposium,“To Infinity and Beyond: Planning for AGHE’s Future.” Gugliucci served as president of AGHE from 2008 to 2010.

Gugliucci was also invited by the AGHE Student Committee to give a presentation on mentorship and networking in order to advance professional career opportunities. Her talk was titled, “Tomorrow’s Leaders Tool Kit: Complete with Set of Wings!”
