Meghan May on NEWS CENTER NOW

Meghan May, Ph.D., associate professor of Biomedical Sciences and infectious disease in the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, was interviewed live on WCSH’s  “NEWS CENTER NOW” after a man become infected with a flesh-eating bacteria after hiking in New Hampshire.

May explained that while the Florida man contracted the infection through blisters he got while hiking, the bacteria could have come from anywhere, including his own body. She says the best way to protect yourself is to keep any open wounds clean and covered until they heal.
