UNE Athletics ‘Irish Eyes are Miling’ event raises nearly $5,000 for local nonprofit
The University of New England Athletics Department hosted the 2nd Annual Irish Eyes are Miling on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Harold Alfond Forum.
Nearly 300 runners and walkers registered for the event, which was held in memory of Will Fulford, UNE's former assistant cross country coach and club track and field coach who passed away unexpectedly in December. Nearly $5,000 was raised for A Running Passion, a non-profit organization designed to serve the youth of the Biddeford community.
UNE Vice President for Student Engagement and Director of Athletics Jack McDonald summed up the day by saying, "thank you to all who ran, jogged, walked and volunteered at UNE's Irish Eyes are Miling. Will's family could not be more grateful to all for honoring Will while also celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Also, a special thank you to the members of our cross country and club track teams who assisted with the event."
