UNE’s Anouar Majid gives lecture on Donald Trump and Islam in Tangier
Anouar Majid, Ph.D., University of New England vice president for Global Affairs and Communications, drew a crowd at a lecture in Tangier, Morocco titled, “Donald Trump and Islam.”
In his lecture, held at the National School of Commerce and Management in Tangier, Majid made frank statements about President Trump’s controversial immigration policies. He said that because Muslims have not explicitly rejected terrorist acts by extremists, they have pushed the West to take action.
Majid called on Moroccans to stop linking their fate to Arab and Muslim issues around the world, and to instead focus on development in their own country.
