Jennifer Gunderman presents public health surveillance webinar to health care professionals
Jennifer Gunderman, M.P.H., director of the Maine Area Health Education Center (AHEC), recently presented a webinar on public health surveillance to approximately 70 public health and health care professionals.
Public health surveillance is the ongoing, systematic collection, analysis, and interpretation of health-related data essential to planning, implementation, and evaluation of public health practice.
The focus of the webinar was on sharing information and raising awareness about what goes into the investigations of outbreaks.
Gunderman’s presentation, “Infectious Disease Surveillance,” was a part of a series hosted by the Maine Public Health Association.
