UNE Registrar Kathy Davis presents at collegiate administrators conference in Oregon
Kathy Davis, M.S., registrar of the University of New England, recently served as a co-presenter at the 2022 American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon.
Davis gave the presentation “Square Peg in a Round Hole? Adapting Systems and Processes for Professional Schools within Universities” with two other academic administrators: Celeste Fowles Nguyen, Ed.D., registrar of the Stanford University School of Medicine, and Martha Trujillo, M.P.A., director of financial aid at the Stanford University School of Medicine.
The presentation identified the many challenges and opportunities when providing registrar services at a professional school/college within a larger university. The presenters shared process differences and improvement approaches used when analyzing new and existing student records systems, related procedures, and business practices.
“Presenting at an AACRAO conference has been a goal of mine since coming to UNE in 2016, and presenting on a topic that discusses the challenges and opportunities involved in overseeing health professions colleges was especially rewarding,” Davis remarked.
AACRAO is a nonprofit, voluntary, professional association of more than 11,000 higher education professionals who represent 2,600 institutions in more than 40 countries. Its mission is to provide professional development, guidelines, and voluntary standards to be used by higher education officials regarding the best practices in records management, admissions, enrollment management, administrative information technology, and student services.
Davis recently gave the same presentation to an American Association of Medical Colleges conference in March.
