UNE's annual Giving Day is March 22
On Tuesday, March 22, the UNE community will come together to “Give Blue” during UNE’s annual Giving Day.
Giving Day has become the unofficial kickoff of the end of the academic year. “After a long Maine winter, Giving Day is a fun way for all of us to come together and celebrate all that makes UNE special while raising important funds for the university,” said Alicia Fereday, Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
Each year, members of the UNE community come forward to offer challenges, matches, and incentives to encourage giving on or before Giving Day. This year, they are as follows:
- When 800 donors make a gift on or before Tuesday, March 22, members of the Board of Trustees will contribute $10,000;
- Gifts from new UNE donors will be matched 1:1 up to $16,000 thanks to a challenge from Wright-Ryan and UNE Trustees;
- When more than 150 Westbrook Junior College and Westbrook College donors make their gift, a Westbrook alumna will make a $15,000 gift to UNE;
- When 150 alumni, faculty, professional staff, and students of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) make a gift, Dean Jonathan Millen will take a chilly plunge in the Saco River off of Freddy Beach. He says he is recruiting others, so stay tuned!
For all members of the UNE community, there is no better day to make a gift to support the UNE experience than Tuesday, March 22.
Your gift just might be the one that puts us over the top.
