Business Dean Norm O’Reilly presents industry study results at Canadian marketing council
Norm O’Reilly, Ph.D., inaugural dean of UNE’s College of Business, on Tuesday presented the results of a sponsorship industry study and led a panel at the Sponsorship Marketing Council of Canada’s Montreal chapter.
More than 80 industry professionals attended the presentation, given in French and held at the headquarters of the Canadian Olympic Committee in the heart of Canada’s second largest city.
O’Reilly presented the results of the 18th annual Canadian Sponsorship Landscape Study, which were then discussed with a panel of industry leaders from the National Bank of Canada, Effix, and the Canadian Olympic Committee.
O’Reilly came to UNE in July with two decades of leadership experience in higher education and is recognized globally as one of the leading scholars in the business of sports.
At UNE, he oversees UNE’s newest college with a focus on experiential learning. Established in 2023, UNE’s College of Business is Maine and New England’s innovation business school, designed to engage business students in enriching experiences that prepare them for leadership positions in some of Maine’s and the nation’s largest employers.
O’Reilly recently studied sports marketing on location at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where he gathered data to inform future case studies and reported on brand partnerships and strategies used to engage attendees.
