UNE’s College of Business introduces MBA program
Competitive tuition makes earning an MBA possible for under $20,000

To prepare the next wave of business and industry leaders in Maine and beyond, the University of New England will begin offering an innovative Master of Business Administration (MBA) program available entirely online starting this fall.
The MBA is the first graduate program offered by UNE’s College of Business. Offered in partnership with UNE Online, this fully online program is designed for both seasoned professionals and recent graduates, offering a flexible, career-focused curriculum tailored to meet the modern needs of managers in a rapidly evolving global marketplace.
Delivered by world-class faculty, the streamlined program offers a 30-credit, general MBA degree option and the option to complete one of three concentrations — health care administration, supply chain management, and sports leadership and management — as part of a 36-credit MBA degree. These high-value options are offered at a competitive cost, with a fast, flexible, and affordable path to degree completion.
“The UNE MBA is designed for both recent graduates and working professionals who seek to drive innovation, promote ethical leadership, and embrace a growth perspective in today’s dynamic business environment,” said Norm O’Reilly, Ph.D., dean of UNE’s College of Business. “It specifically and deliberately supports individuals looking to change careers, advance internally, or build their expertise in business disciplines in an accessible, online format.”
Numerous publications report the MBA remains the most sought-after graduate degree in the United States, and its popularity continues to grow.
According to the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), more than 50% of MBA students nationwide now pursue their degrees online, a figure expected to rise to 80% by 2030. UNE’s program aligns with these trends, providing a high-quality, accessible education that prepares students for leadership in various industries.
UNE’s MBA program is open to individuals with a four-year undergraduate degree in any discipline, and courses take place in an eight-week, online, asynchronous format, allowing students to start the program at multiple points in the year and to plan their progress at a pace that suits their own situation, timeline, and career development goals.
Concentrations within the UNE MBA are tailored to prepare graduates with the strategic, analytical, and operational expertise needed to meet demand for management positions across multiple industries, including manufacturing, sales and retail operations, professional sports, technology and computer science, and the health care sector.
“With a focus on flexible learning and interdisciplinary collaboration, the program furthers the careers of working professionals with the skills necessary to allow them to make an impact in various industries with advanced skills,” said Amir Mousavian, Ph.D., associate dean of the College of Business and a professor of supply chain management.
Applications are now being accepted for the MBA program, with classes beginning in fall 2025. For more information or to apply, visit Master of Business Administration Course Description & Registration.
