Deans List fall 2024

University of New England students named to fall semester 2024 Dean List

An incredible 1,269 students were named to the list, a marker of academic excellence and high achievement. The Dean’s List recognizes full-time matriculating students who have attained a semester grade point average of 3.30 or better who are in good academic standing.

Annual MLK Celebration highlights spirit of advocacy in uncertain times

This year’s celebration — held 61 years after King’s historic visit to UNE's precursor institution St. Francis College — embodied the theme of “Advocacy in Action” and highlighted opportunities for thoughtful engagement in the sphere of community and belonging while honoring King's legacy. Attendees on both Maine campuses were asked: “What action will you take for a better world?”

Searching for a Unicorn in Maine’s Forests

The northern bog lemming is one of Maine’s most elusive creatures. Traditional methods of tracking wildlife, such as trapping and surveying, have been ineffective in determining the location and number of northern bog lemmings across the northern United States. New techniques used by Zach Olson, Ph.D., an associate professor of animal behavior at UNE, are flipping the script in identifying this threatened animal. Learn more
