My background as a medical anthropologist with a Master of Public Health has allowed me to extend my work on the intersections of culture and health into improving the health of communities. I am very excited to share my expertise with UNE students and help you find ways use your education to have a positive impact on the world.

Research

Current research

I currently research culturally appropriate interventions for the prevention and treatment of drug addiction in marginalized communities. My current work involves groups in the United States, Ethiopia, and Kenya. I also have ongoing research on tobacco consumption and tobacco-related illness among Native Americans living in the Pacific Northwest.

Global Health, Syndemics, Health Disparities, Social Epidemiology, Ethnobotany, Drug Addition, Historical Trauma
