Courtney Schapira, D.D.S.

Dr. Schapira received a B.A. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Iowa and a D.D.S. from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She completed a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington D.C. and then served as a staff dentist for the United States Air Force from 2005-2017. During this time, she provided comprehensive dental care at assignments located in Washington D.C.; England; Charleston, SC; and Colorado Springs, CO. From 2011 to 2012, Dr. Schapira served as a dental advisor to an Afghan trauma hospital in Gardez, Afghanistan, training four Afghan nurses on dental procedures and overseeing dental care of 7,000 Afghan trauma patients. After working and learning alongside some of the best dentists in the world and earning the stamp of 37 different countries on her passport (providing global dental care in five of them), Dr. Schapira is ready to give back to her profession. By passing along her knowledge and sharing her experiences, Dr. Schapira hopes that she can inspire and encourage the next generation of dentists. She is currently Chair of the Department of Clinical Comprehensive Care and an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of New England College of Dental Medicine.
