David Alan Loxterkamp, M.D., M.A.

Medical Director, Physician Assistant Program

David Loxterkamp is a family physician from Belfast, Maine, where he has lived since 1984 with his wife, Lindsay, and children, Clare and John. He is a founding member of Seaport Family Practice, P.A., which participated in the National Demonstration Project (2006-8) and the Maine Patient-Centered Medical Home Pilot (2010-present), and is NCQA-certified as a patient-centered medical home. His interests include running, gardening, singing, and writing. He is the author of "A Measure of My Days" (University Press of New England 1997), a forth-coming book entitled "Conversation, Friendship, & Hope" (University of Michigan Press), and numerous articles in the medical and lay press.
