Emily Kelting, Ph.D. joined the University of New England in August 2024 as a faculty member in the School of Computer Science and Data Analytics. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Drexel University in Philadelphia and has applied her mathematical expertise to a wide range of fields, including fluid dynamics, microphysics, parasitology, ecology, combustion science, psychology, and statistics.
Dr. Kelting’s educational and research philosophy goes beyond teaching formulas and techniques; she is committed to fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. Her goal is to empower students and ignite their passion for mathematics both in the classroom and through research. She aims to inspire a sense of wonder and curiosity, encouraging students to explore topics that interest them, helping them develop their own research questions, and aiding them in conducting meaningful investigations.
